The book reviews of UK children's author, Brian Keaney
Very funny, very sharp, very American, this is more like watching a sit-com than reading a novel. The action revovles around the attempt by a twenty nine year old journalist to reclaim his life after his wife was killed in a place-crash. Not obvious comic material, you might think. But Tropper milks it for all it's worth.
The result is like Truly Madly Deeply interpreted by the cast of Friends. It's totally shallow but a hugely entertaining romp in which every chapter introduces another ridiculous twist and every character speaks in perfect one-liners. Holiday reading.
